What is Books for Hope?

Books For Hope is a campaign run by Bow River Books in Calgary, Canada, to encourage authors to donate their books to orphans and other vulnerable children in Tanzania. The books are received and distributed to students by Rising Hope Organization Tanzania (RIHOTA), a registered non-profit in Tanzania since 2021.

How Do I Participate?

It couldn’t be easier! Simply ship five copies of your book to Bakari Nyamsosa, executive director of RIHOTA, at the following address:

How Do Donor Authors Benefit?

Besides knowing that you are providing a gift of great educational value to orphans and other vulnerable children, you will receive photos of the students holding your books. You will also receive a personalized video from a student, thanking you for your donation. You will be welcome to share these photos and videos on social media. This will help promote your books and hopefully encourage more authors to participate in this campaign. Photos of students holding your books will also appear in the campaign’s social media posts and on the RIHOTA website.

Authors who have already generously donated books include Vincent Taylor (USA), Juanita Gandara (USA), Joanne Hazelaar (Canada), Dave Murphy (Canada), and Dan Kostka (Canada).
